Report a period once. Then lock it.

A closed fiscal period is read-only for everyone in the company. Backdated entries, edits and voids that would land inside it are refused, so the numbers you filed stay the numbers in the ledger.

  • Open or closed status per period
  • Blocks journals, documents and payments
  • Records who closed it and when
  • Works with the audit log

What you get

Close a month or a year once it is reported, and every later posting into it is rejected.

Nothing moves after filing

Once a period is closed, any posting dated inside it is rejected at the ledger, not just hidden in the UI. Imports and the API obey the same rule.

Your calendar, not ours

Define periods that match your fiscal year — monthly, quarterly or annual — and close them one at a time as you report.

Accountable closings

Each closing records the user and timestamp. Paired with the immutable audit log, you can show exactly when a period was frozen.

Fewer surprises in comparatives

Prior-year columns in your reports stop drifting because someone found an old receipt in March.

How it works

  1. 1

    Define the periods

Settings → Fiscal periods. Add the months or years you report on; each starts open.

  2. 2

    Finish the period

Post the last adjustments, run the reports and the TAK books, hand them over.

  3. 3

    Close it

Mark the period closed. Nefin records who did it and when.

  4. 4

    Correct forward

Found an error later? Post the correction in the current open period, where it belongs, with a memo pointing back.

Frequently asked

What exactly is blocked in a closed period?

Any journal entry, invoice, bill, payment or reversal whose date falls inside the closed period is rejected. This applies to manual entries, automatic postings from documents, and imports alike.

Who can close or reopen a period?

Users whose role grants fiscal-period management — by default the owner and admins. Roles are editable, so you can restrict this to your accountant.

Can I still view reports for a closed period?

Yes. Closing only prevents changes. Reports, the general ledger and exports for the period remain available and will always show the same figures.
